A Wedding at the Alexander Hotel in Indianapolis
Adam and Karen waited a long time for their wedding day. It was just when the news of COVID was becoming real last spring that their original wedding date was approaching quickly. Like many other couples, they wanted to celebrate with their family and friends and made the difficult decision to postpone their wedding day until they felt they could safely do so. So, 13 months from their originally planned wedding day, Adam and Karen gathered with their family and friends at the Alexander Hotel in Indianapolis for a sweet, long awaited celebration.
That moment when a bride’s dad gets to see her in her wedding dress for the first time on her wedding day…oh, my heart…it’s one of my very favorite moments of the day.
Karen gave her dad custom cufflinks with a picture of a hike they took together when she was young. Little did she know that he planned to reference this hike in his speed later that evening.
And then there is the first look between the bride and the groom. What a special moment! For those on the fence about a first look, DO IT! It creates a perfect, intimate, moment between the two of you that you otherwise won’t get in the day. You can react genuinely, talk, laugh, and get some nerves out before seeing the rest of your guests. I wrote a lot more about first looks on your wedding day in this post.
What an epic location the Alexander Hotel had for them to do their first look! Check out those views of the Indianapolis Skyline!
…and then Karen & Adam’s Chocolate Lab, Remi, visited for some encouragement, a pep talk, and some kisses.
Molly and Myrtle are ones of my very favorite Indianapolis Florists. Didn’t they knock it out of the park for these GORGEOUS, fun and bright florals for this wedding?
It was a complete family occasion! Adam’s dad performed the ceremony.
The Alexander Hotel is known for it’s art exhibits. Adam and Karen’s reception was surrounded by an art installation called Al Aire Libre, by Justin Favela. It was a bright and colorful backdrop to reflect the bright spirits of everyone at the wedding, we were so excited to finally gather to celebrate Adam and Karen.
Thank you so much to all of these incredible vendors who came together to make Adam and Karen’s vision of their wedding at the Alexander Hotel in Indianapolis a reality.
