An Eiteljorg Museum Indianapolis Wedding
Right in the middle of downtown Indianapolis, right on the canal, we have a museum that you’d expect to see surrounded by sagebrush, cattle, and desert. The Eiteljorg museum is some place I have driven and walked by so many times, but I don’t think I ever completely understood what kind of a museum it was. Typically, Austin and I aren’t museum people. When we were in Paris, we bee-lined through the Louvre to the Mona Lisa. Once we saw it, we looked around for a few more minutes, but quickly decided that we were good and moved on to other things. We were probably there an hour…shame, shame, I know.
As the horse crazy daughter of a father who taught History and Anthropology, focusing on the American West and Native Americans, I grew up with a special place in my soul for mountains, open range, and everything western. I’ve seen Dances with Wolves more times than I could count and have pretty much seen every western movie that’s worth watching at least once. Right now, the Eiteljorg has an exhibit focusing on Western movies, and that combined with all of the other exhibits that I caught glimpses of, means that I really need to come back another day to enjoy the museum.
On this day, though, the focus was entirely on Ryan and Brittany. I think they may have the record for our couples who have known each other the longest as they met in KINDERGARTEN! While they were growing up, they were just friends. Brittany would even draw horns on Ryan’s year book picture, but pretty soon, those horns turned to hearts and they began dating. They went their separate ways during college but one night after college, as fate would have it, they were invited to the same party. They reconnected and started dating again. They know that they are meant to be together and are so excited to spend the rest of their lives together.
Ryan and Brittany spent a beautiful evening surrounded by their family and friends at their Eiteljorg Museum wedding right in the heart of Indianapolis. We were able to take some of their wedding photographs along the canal in the most gorgeous evening light. Then, everyone celebrated amongst beautiful designed florals with the Indiana Statehouse overlooking the celebration through the large window of the reception room. Here are a few samples from Ryan and Brittany’s beautiful wedding day!
This is the face of pure joy after seeing Ashley from Reneu Beauty’s work on her makeup for her wedding day. Isn’t she gorgeous?
Of course, meanwhile, Austin is hanging out with Ryan and his guys while Ryan gets ready.
The light was just gorgeous for some beautiful wedding portraits with Ryan & Brittany along the Indianapolis Canal.
Ryan and Brittany’s reception at the Eiteljorg Museum was a gorgeous combination of golds, whites, and navy.
I love how you can see the Indiana Statehouse through the window behind the head table.
Thank you so much to this wonderful vendor team for making Ryan and Brittany’s wedding at the Eiteljorg Museum spectacular!
