Sacred Heart of Jesus Indianapolis Wedding
David and Laura’s relationship was built on friendship. Something that Austin and I are a large fan of, since that is how our relationship began as well. We think the best marriages began as friendships! The friendship that David and Laura have began in high school when they both attended Bishop Chatard. One day, David asked if he could borrow Laura’s Bible in religion class. He took the opportunity to write her a little note in her Bible, and this continued for a while until David finally asked Laura to be his girlfriend.
Knowing Laura’s love for traveling, he surprised her with a trip to Denver where he proposed to her on the top of a mountain in Rocky Mountain National Park! I have a soft spot for Colorado and climbing mountains, so after seeing the picture of their proposal taken by a kind stranger on the top of the mountain, I knew we would get along just fine.
Their relationship continued while they attended Ball State University. Then, they took a month long trip together to Europe visiting Amsterdam, Krakow, Prague, Vienna, Salzburg, Munich, Zurich, Florence, Milan, Venice, and Rome. They had such a great time on this trip that they used it as inspiration for their travel themed reception, naming each table after a city they visited or someplace they would like to visit someday.
They were married in one of the most gorgeous Catholic Cathedrals in Indianapolis, Sacred Heart of Jesus. It’s hard not to imagine the hours and hours of tedious work that went in to every intricate detail and imagine all of the work that goes into keeping the beautiful Cathedral in such excellent condition. It was the most gorgeous backdrop for David & Laura’s wedding mass.
After their ceremony, they treated their guests to a reception at the historic Union Station in downtown Indianapolis. They celebrated with an amazing dinner, cocktails, and danced the night away.
We were so honored to capture David and Laura’s wedding at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Cathedral with their reception at the Indianapolis Union Station. Enjoy a few highlights from their wedding day.
The moment that a bride sees her dad for the first time is always special.
Thank you so much to all of the wedding vendors who made David and Laura’s wedding day at Sacred Heart Cathedral and the Indianapolis Union Station wonderful!
