A Hendricks County, Indiana Wedding
There is just something magical about small towns. Each little town has it’s own character and history. Everyone knows everyone, and life is just a little simpler. We have moved back to Austin’s hometown of Danville, Indiana after living, most recently, in Atlanta, GA. While we loved Atlanta, I love the personality of Danville, and I’m quickly adopting it as my home as well. After living here for nearly three years, it’s finally starting to feel a bit more like HOME.
So, it’s fun to photograph weddings in Danville for people that Austin knew growing up. We are always running into people around Danville that Austin has known since he was young, even if it was as acquaintances. Andrea’s family is one of those families. When she reached out to me about photographing their wedding, I immediately asked Austin if he knew her, because, really, it feels like he knows everyone in this small town. He told me about how he graduated with Andrea’s sister and rode the school bus with all three girls in that family. So, it was so fun to get to reconnect and photograph Ivan and Andrea’s wedding day!
Ivan and Andrea took dance lessons at the same dance studio. While Ivan noticed Andrea right away, he was initially intimidated by her, but after she initiated conversation with him, he learned how sweet she is. Their friendship quickly blossomed into something more, but it was their light saber battle they had one day that sealed their fate. Although, Andrea did make sure that I knew that she did, in fact, win.
It’s obvious how smitten Ivan and Andrea are with each other. They are so happy and so glad to have found each other. Here are a few highlights from their wedding at Westbridge Church in Danville, Indiana with their reception at the CRG Event Center in Plainfield, Indiana.
They were married on “Star Wars Day”…May 4th. So, of course they had to incorporate some Star Wars elements…like these sweet groomsmen ties…
…and Star Wars socks!
Ivan and Andrea did not want to see each other before the ceremony, but they did want to read their notes with the other nearby.
Since the bride and groom are both experienced dancers, everyone expected some great dancing.
…and they didn’t disappoint.
Of course, we had to sneak out for a couple golden sunset pictures.
Everyone seemed to be a great dancer! I love watching people who are good at dancing, because…let’s be real…dancing is not one of my talents.
